Abstract :The objective of this research was to investigate basic soil properties of Ankara Haymana-Kızılkoyun Basin and to submit some information to help for basin management. The study area is far from 16.2 km far from Haymana district and 89 km south-ern of Ankara capital city, and its total area is approximately 8.7 km2. Average annual temperature and precipitation are 11.2 oC and 374.7 mm, respectively. Mean sea levels altitude of the lake area is 1151 m. and maximum places of the Basin is 1376 m. After examination of topographic, land use, geologic and geomorphologic maps and land observation, 5 profile places were excavated in study area. Detailed land observations were done with grid method and auger examinations. The soil samples were taken from each profile and their analyses were done in the laboratory. By assessing the results of analyses and field studies, 5 different soil series were determined and described. Two of them were classified as Entisol due to their young age and two are Inceptisol and one is Mollisol. Whereas Karatepe sırtı seri has the largest area (27.8 %), Arifinarkaç seri has the smallest area in the study area (%11.2).Keywords : Ankara Haymana-Kızılkoyun havzası, toprak sınıflandırması, toprak haritası
