Abstract :In this study, growth curves of 5 wheat varieties (namely Dağdaş 94, Kınacı 97, Konya 2002, Karahan 99, and Ahmetağa) were modeled via fitting Gompertz and logistic growth curves (whose parameters can be interpreted biologically) to plant weight data, which are collected for 20 weeks. In addition, growth curves of wheat varieties and their parameters were com-pared by using sum of square reduction test. Results show that Karahan 99 is the variety that has the highest growth potential (178.4 gr), while Ahmetağa is the variety that has the lowest growth potential (147.5 gr). On the other hand, the variety Ahmetağa reaches to the maximum absolute growth rate at the earliest (13.54 weeks), while the variety Karahan 99 reaches the latest (14.9 weeks). Results from sum of square reduction test show that a common Gompertz growth curve function can not be used for all va-rieties. However, it is found that varieties Dağdaş 94, Kınacı 97, and Ahmetağa can be expressed with a common growth curve while Konya 2002 and Karahan 99 can be expressed with another common growth curve. Keywords : Gompertz büyüme eğrisi, lojistik büyüme eğrisi, büyüme eğrilerinin karşılaştırılması, indirgenmiş kareler toplamı testi
