Determination of Consumption Habits of Milk and Dairy Products of Selcuk University Undergraduate Students

Abstract :Consumption habits of milk and dairy products of the students were examined in the survey conducted by applying the face-to-face interview technique with 151 students studying at different faculties and colleges of Selcuk University. As a result of the research, it was determined that only 28,48% of the students were regular and 71.52% of them had consumed irregular milk and dairy products and it was determined that the criterion that they paid the most attention in purchasing milk and milk products was 76.15%. Most of the students prefer to buy milk and dairy products from the market and it has been determined that food expenditures have been allocated between 38.41% and 150-200 TL in expenditures and 45.03% is allocated to milk and milk products in this expenditure. As a result, there is a need for policy studies to increase the consumption of milk and milk products, which are basic animal foods, to a healthy and balanced diet, and to raise the consumption of milk and milk per capita above the normal level, And society consciousness should be provided about the consumption of dairy products.Keywords : Tüketim alışkanlıkları, Süt ve süt ürünleri, Selçuk Üniversitesi
