Abstract :This study was conducted to determine the adaptation capacities, tuber calibrations (distribution according to the tuber size) and qualities of 21 potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cultivars grown in Gevaş-Van ecological condition in 2001 and 2002. The study was designed in completely randomized block design with three replications. Tuber yield per hill, dry matter content, starch content, rates of small, medium and large sized tubers were investigated. According to the mean values of two years, Fabula and Yaylakızı cultivars had the highest tuber yields per hill (880.6 g and 799.7 g, respectively), Vangogh obtained the highest dry matter (22.9 %) and starch content (17.1%) Saturna possessed the highest amount of medium-sized tubers (53.1 %), and Fabula produced the highest amount of large-sized tubers (44.1 %) It was determined that Fabula, Yaylakızı, Vangogh, Liseta and Latona potato cultivars could be recommended for the region. Keywords : Patates, çeşit, kalite, kalibrasyon
