Abstract :The basic biological function of poultry hatching egg is to produce live and saleable chicks. Hatcheries are concerned with maximizing the number of saleable chicks whilst the growers focus on minimizing mortality and improving feed efficiency. Processors look to maximizing carcass and breast meat yields. Also, two of most effective factors which are influence chick quality and development are hatching egg weight and breeder age. Unfortunately, it is difficult to say that these two cirteria are given enough attention by hatchery stuff in Turkey.
