Abstract :The objective of this research was to investigate basic soil properties of Güvenç Basin and to submit some information to help for basin management. The study area selected for this research is 6.5 km east from 35th. km of Ankara-İstanbul highway, and total area is approximately 17.5 km2. Average annual temperature and precipitation are 11.4 0C and 478.1mm. Mean sea level altitude of Basin is 1053 m. After examination of topographic, land use, geologic and geomorphologic maps and land observation, 12 profiles were excavated in study area. Detailed land observations were done with grid method and auger examinations. The soil samples were taken from each profile and their analyses were done in the laboratory. By assessing the results of analyses and field studies, 8 different soil series were determined and described. Four of them were classified as Entisol due to their young age and three are Inceptisol and one is Vertisol. Whereas Tabyabayır seri has the largest area (27.2 %), Kervanpınar seri has the smallest area in the study area (%1.7).Keywords : Ankara Güvenç havzası, toprak etüd ve haritalama, toprak sınıflandırması
