Abstract :RP40xQ, HD324, PM702, Kandil, PM217, HDA337, HDH23 and Vil33 pepper genotypes were uesd in order to determi-ne the effects of heterosis on resistance to Phytophthora capsici Leon. were examined in this study. The study was carried out with total 36 plant materials consisted of parental genotype and diallel crosses among them. The length of the deepest negrosis on the cut-stem method was employed as resistance criteria to Phytophthora capsici Leon. Average negrosis length of parental genotypes was 102,3 mm, while those of their hybrids was 110,1 mm. Average 7.73% increase in deepest necrosis length was found as a negative heterosis effect. However, there were positive heterosis effects on 5 hybrids , while the order 23 hybrids showed negative heterosis effects in resistance to Phytophthora capsici Leon. Resistance was transferred in decreasing amount from parents to hybrids and full resistance could not be obtained. As a result, it was understood that it was not enougt to esu a single resistant resistant parent in resistance studies. More-over, there is also a decrease in resistance in the case of using two resistanct parent. Uneasy transfer of resistance to Phy-tophthora capsici Leon. by crossing shows that this trait is not controlled by a single gene. Keywords : Biber, Phytophthora capsici Leon., dayanıklılık
