The Effects of Different Nitrogen Doses on The Seed Yield and Alkaloid Contents in Tube Flowers’ (Datura stramonium L.) Botany Varieties

Abstract :This study was conducted in the experimental field of Selcuk University, Agricultural Faculty in 2000. The aim of the study was to determine the most appropriate Nitrogen dose and the effects of different Nitrogen dose applications (0-5-10 and 15 kg/da) of four different botany varieties (stramonium, inermis, tatula, godronii) of Tube Flower (Datu-ra stramonium L.) to seed yield and alkaloid contents and some of its morphological features.The research was ar-ranged in the "split plots of randomized blocks” experimental design with three replications. According to the study results statistically significant differences were observed between varieties and Nitrogen doses with respect of the plant length and seed yield. The highest plant length (98,03 cm) and seed yield (243,92 kg/da) was obtained from N3 (15 kg/da) Nitrogen dose with respect of the mean of varieties. As regards to the mean of Nitro-gen doses the highest plant length 89,40 cm was obtained from var. tatula, and the highest seed yield 213,34 kg/da was obtained from var. stramonium. As regards to the total alkaloid content and yields the highest total alkaloid rate % 0,48 with respect of mean va-riety was obtained in N1 (5kg/da) Nitrogen dose and the highest total alkaloid yield 0,87 kg/da was obtained from N3 (15 kg/da) Nitrogen dose. As regards to the mean of Nitrogen doses the highest total alkaloid rate (%0,40) was ob-tained in var. inermis, and the highest total alkaloid yield (0.70 kg/da) was obtained in var. inermis.Keywords : Datura stramonium, azot dozları, botanik varyeteler, tohum verimi, bitki boyu, total alkaloit oranı, total alkaloit verimi
