Abstract :Effects of humic acid in soils having different types of clay on potassium fixation were investigated. For this reason, soil samples of sand, clay loam and clay textures including smectite+clorite, smectite and smectite+illite were used. Soil samples were put into 400-cm3 pots after drying and sieving. Humic acid (HA) forming of K humat were applied to soils at 0, 100, 200, 400 and 800 ppm of K. Soil samples were kept in an incubator for 30 and 60-day. At the end of incubation, amounts of fixed potassium were determined. Results obtained show that HA significantly increased the K fixations of soils (P<0.05). The highest natural fixed potassium values were determined in clay loam soils dominated smectite. K fixation in all doses of HA was significantly decreased by depending on incubation period. Keywords : humik asit, kil, potasyum fiksasyonu
