Abstract :Amaç: Günümüzde bilgisayar destekli tasarım/ bilgisayar destekli üretim (CAD/CAM) sistemleri ile farklı fiziksel ve optik özelliklere sahip materyaller kullanılmaktadır. ** Mariehallsvagen 16, 16865 Stockholm- İsveç Anahtar Kelimeler: CAD/CAM materyalleri, yüzey pürüzlülüğü, yüzey sertliği, renk değişimi, translusensi EVALUATION OF PHYSICAL AND OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF HYBRID CAD/CAM MATERIALS ABSTRACT Aim: Different materials are available for the computer-aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems with different physical and optical properties. The selection criteria in relationship with their clinical use could be challenging. This study investigated the effect of the variations in the composition of several CAD/CAM hybrid materials on their physical and optical properties. Materials and Methods: Three CAD/CAM materials were tested in the present study: Composite resin material (GC Cerasmart), polymer- infiltrated- feldspa- tic ceramic (Vita Enamic), zirconia reinforced lithium silicate ceramic (Vita Suprinity). All tested materials exhibited color A1 high translucency (HT). Thirty spe- cimens were prepared by cutting blocks into standar- dized pieces of 12x 10x 1 mm (n=10). The specimens were thermocycled for 5000 cycles between 5 0 C and 55 0 C with a dwell time of 30 seconds and a transfer time of 10 seconds. The surface roughness and Vickers hardness of the specimens were measured before and after thermocycling. The color change and translucency parameter were measured by a dental spectrophotometer. The CIELAB coordinates (L*, a* and b*) of the specimens were recorded before and after thermocycling. Data were analyzed with ANOVA for color change, and paired-sample t test for other parameters. Significance was set at 0.05. Results: The changes in the surface roughness of the specimens were statistically comparable (p>0.05), but Cerasmart showed significant Vickers hardness change (p<0.001) after thermocycling. The Cerasmart showed the highest color change (p<0.001), while the translucency parameter of the all group did not differ significantly after thermocycling (p > 0.05). Conclusions: The variations in the composition of CAD/CAM hybrid materials may effect on their physical and optical properties.
