Abstract :The study presents a bibliometric analysis of studies conducted on sport and physical activity in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). 490 articles determined on Web of Science database in line with the purpose of the study were included in the data analysis. The results obtained show that there was a limited number of studies in this field before 2006, but that research has gained pace in this regard in recent years. It was found that the relevant research concentrated in countries such as the USA, China, Canada, and Turkey. On the other hand, such research was encountered less in some African and Asian regions involving underdeveloped countries. In addition, the analyses performed demonstrated that the number of studies which emphasized the importance of sport and physical activity in individuals with ASD in terms of developing their educational and life skills was higher. Besides, it was determined that more research was needed on issues such as mental health, executive functions, and adapted physical activity. In conclusion, the importance of research on sport and physical activity in individuals with ASD was emphasized, and the need for more research in this field was expressed. Keywords : Autism spectrum disorder, sport, physical activity, bibliometrics
