Abstract :ABSTRACT In this study, effects of rail to leg and corner block joint type applied to furniture such as table and coffee table on bending strength were researched. In the direction of the research aim, both secret mortise-tenon and dowel as rail to leg joint, and both dado and screw as corner block joint types were tested. PVAc glue was used for fixing the corner elements. To determine bending strength, 40 samples from beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) were prepared in accordance with ISO 6237 and bending strength tests were applied to specimens by Seider bending test machine. According to the results of test, highest bending strength was measured with dowel (6.054 N/mm²). Key Words: Furniture, furniture construction, rail to leg joints, corner block. Keywords : Furniture, furniture construction, rail to leg joints, corner block.
