Abstract :Flash flooding is one of the most dangerous and the most common catastrophes among the other types of floods occure in USA. Flash flooding may occur in any area that may not even be located in floodplain zone. Since the flash flooding can take a few minutes or a few hours with out any warning and has high damaging potential, in this study, it is focused on identifying areas prone to flash flooding in the Philadelphia city, which has many natural streams and high development rates. In this study therefore, an analytical model based on Geographic Information System (GIS) was developed to find the most flash flood prone areas in Philadelphia city and determine the relationship between the combined sewer area and the locations of green stormwater infrastructure projects. Keywords : flood, flash flood, stormwater management
