Abstract :This study was carried out to examine the internal migration conceptually and to determine the distribution of internal migration in Turkey. For the purposes of the study, 1993-1998-2003-2008 and 2013 data of Turkey Demographic and Health Survey (TDHS), published by Hacettepe University Institute of Population Studies, were used in the study. The population of the study consists of women in reproductive ages in the TDHSs. The weighted sampling method, multi-stage sampling method and stratified cluster sampling methods were used in sampling in the research. The sample of the research was 6519 women in the 1993 research, 8576 women in the 1998 research, 8075 women in the 2003 research, 7405 women in the 2008 study and 9746 women in the 2013 study. The migration variable was determined by the childhood residential area of women in the study. In the results of the study, it has been identified that the percentage of people living in urban areas has increased continuously, and more than 60% of women at secondary and higher education level live in urban areas for five research period. Also the percentage of living in cities was found higher in women who were unmarried, unemployed, those with health insurance and living in the Western Region.Keywords : Göç, İç Göç, Göçmen, Turkey Demographic and Health Survey
