A Multidimensional Analysis of Graduate Theses in Türkiye on Giftedness and Creativity

Abstract :In this study, it was aimed to examine the graduate theses conducted in the field of giftedness and creativity under 11 different headings: year, university, graduate school, department, method, sample type, school type of practice, type of participants, number of participants, data collection tool and subject. In this qualitative study, document analysis method was preferred. Using the key concepts of \" intelligence and creativity\", \" giftedness and creativity\", and \"ability/talented and creativity\" and the research was conducted on master\'s and doctoral theses published in the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE). A total of 120 theses were found in the advanced searches made separately with these keywords. Three criteria were established to identify the postgraduate theses to be included in the scope of the research and examined in detail. The first criterion is that the theses are related to giftedness and creativity, that they are included in the Higher Education Database, and finally that they are open to access. Within the framework of these criteria, the abstract sections of 120 theses were examined and 61 studies were selected. Within the scope of this research, 27 of the theses selected to be examined are master\'s theses and 34 are doctoral theses. After reviewing similar studies in the relevant literature, the researcher prepared the \"Thesis Classification Form\" (TCF) consisting of 11 sections as a data collection tool. Descriptive content analysis was used to analyze 61 theses in terms of the variables within the scope of the study. Thus, the results are presented in order to guide those concerned, to enable them to make evaluation and self-criticism regarding the studies carried out, to see the deficiencies and needs in the field and to determine the direction of what should be done in future studies.Keywords : Üstün Yetenek, özel yetenek, yaratıcılık, yüksek lisans tezi, doktora tezi
