Abstract :Aim: This study aims to give a bibliometric overview of the electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) literature in the psychiatry research area, published between 2000 and 2023. Material and Method: The data was retrieved on June 1, 2023, in accordance with the set search strategy, from the Web of Science Core Collection, which served as the data source. For the analysis of published literature, the bibliometrics tool VOS Viewer was employed. Results: According to the search strategy, this study included 1909 articles regarding ECT. With 567 publications and 12632 citations, the United States was determined to be the country with the greatest importance in this study. Additionally, more than 100 publications on ECT were published in Germany (n=171), Australia (n=148), China (n=127), the Netherlands (n=124), and Japan (n=110). Based on the volume of published records, the Mayo Clinic in the United States was the most significant institution in ECT research. The bulk of publications (39.9%) were published in the Journal of ECT. Conclusions: The bibliometric analysis in this study provided information on recent developments in publications on ECT from 2000 to 2023. The results can act as the basis for further field research. Keywords : Bibliyometrik analiz, Elektrokonvülsif tedavi, psikiyatri
